From Bali to Kalimantan, 23 Artists Gather at Nuanu to Celebrate the Connection Between Nature and Imagination

Spanning 44 hectares of creative landscape, Nuanu Creative City welcomes 23 artists from across Indonesia, from Bali to Kalimantan, for Liana Reverie: Vivid Colours, a group exhibition exploring the relationship between humans, nature, and imagination. On view at Labyrinth Art Gallery from 8 November 2025 to 20 January 2026, the exhibition is a collaboration between Labyrinth Art Gallery, LucyDream Art, and Philo ArtSpace, underscoring Nuanu’s commitment to artistic collaboration and cultural growth in Bali.

“Artists exploring how harmony that can exist between people and the natural world is something close to heart for us,” said Lev Kroll, CEO of Nuanu Creative City. “It reflects our belief that creativity and ecology belong together, that art can preserve cultural identity and strengthen the collaborative spirit that lies at the heart of Nuanu.”

Building on this spirit, the exhibition brings together 23 artists from Java, Bali and Kalimantan, including: A.M. Dante, Aly Waffa, Andi Sules, Anthok S, Aris Suantara, Ayu Murniati, Egy Alfandy, Ermy Herfika, Holy, I Ketut Putrayasa, I Nyoman Sujana Kenyem, Irena Adre Isabella, Keke Kendisan, Made Gunawan, Moelyoto, Ni Komang Atmi Kristiadewi, Ni Wayan Sutariyani, Putu Adi Suweca, Rangga Pamungkas, Reza Olitalia, Rezzo Masduki, Tatang B.Sp, and Tommy F. Awuy.

The exhibition unfolds as a collective reflection on how humanity can rediscover its place within the natural world, through vivid colours, organic materials and a renewed sense of interdependence. Each work draws viewers into a dialogue between imagination and ecology, breathing life into the gallery space.

The title Liana refers to the woody climbing plant found in tropical forests, used here as a metaphor for connection within ecosystems. The exhibition extends this symbolism to portray the intertwined relationship between humans and nature, much like how Nuanu itself is rooted in the landscape, animated by artistic expression, and strengthened by human connection.

“We’re proud to present our artists in this group exhibition at Labyrinth Art Gallery, in partnership with our long-time collaborator Jati Nusa Lestari,” said Amalia Ahmad, Founder of Philo ArtSpace. “Together, we share a vision to unite art, nature, and humanity. Guided by the belief that art can awaken awareness and inspire transformation, this partnership supports Jati Nusa Lestari’s greening initiative, empowering communities and protecting the natural world. More than an exhibition, it’s a movement of giving, where creativity becomes an act of care and connection with the Earth.”

“Our participation reflects our belief in art as an expression of emotion, light, and connection, a way to mirror the pulse of life itself. We’re proud to participate in this group exhibition with Labyrinth Art Gallery to support artists whose works explore harmony and transformation within nature’s ever-evolving rhythm.” - Alexa Genoyer, Founder, LucyDream Art

Liana Reverie: Vivid Colours invites visitors to pause and reflect on how often the essence of plant life is overlooked in modern existence and how reconnecting with it can restore balance, interdependence, and collaboration. In a fast-paced world, the exhibition offers a moment to slow down, absorb the vibrancy of colour, and rekindle one’s connection with the natural world.

For Nuanu, every exhibition is an exploration of how art connects humanity with an ever-changing world and this one listens to how nature speaks, and how humans translate its language through creativity. In this spirit, Liana Reverie: Vivid Colours expresses Nuanu’s belief that art is not apart from nature but moves within its living rhythm, echoing its commitment to shaping the future of art and culture in Bali.
